The main characters in this book are Gary, Brian, and Mrs. Becker, later on in the story. In this book, the two young boys are best friends. Oddie is the sheriff and ends up kidnapping Gary. Gary’s grandpa went on a journey to find gold, and he discovered gold, and died on his adventure. He left the maps so they could go on the journey. Oddie stole the maps to find the gold but he has known about the gold for 37 years. He is the one that killed Gary’s grandpa.Then he kidnaps Gary and goes to find the gold.

This sounds like a good mystery. I am a mystery fan myself, but haven’t read this one yet. Bill Wallace is a great author, so you can’t go wrong with one of his books.
